Day 4 saw us travel from Hiroshima to Kyoto on the Shinkansen (bullet train). Once we arrived and dropped our suitcases at our Ryokan near the station, we boarded a train for Nara.
Nara is beautiful and traditional, famous for the Giant Buddha, sacred deer and largest wooden structure in the world……for me, it is the atmosphere of Nara that is unforgettable.
Students loved feeding the deer, the picturesque walk to the Giant Buddha and the nostril challenge. This is located behind the Buddha, and is a hole the same size as Buddha’s nostril that you try and fit through. All students and a few teachers were successful and much fun was had.
Another big day of walking, adventuring, delicious food and wonderful memories made yet again.
